If you haven’t yet checked out these two great resources from the CHPDP, now is the time.
Are you looking for ways to help your students learn how to respect others, celebrate differences, and be socially responsible? If so, take a moment to download these two great free resources: Using Literature to Promote Cultural Competence: A Bullying Prevention Companion Bibliography, Vol 2. and A Bullying Prevention Companion Bibliography, Vol 1.These volumes are the go to resource for helping students learn, through literature, how to become culturally competent adults who value and respect others.
These resources are for anyone who works with students, especially classroom teachers, bullying prevention trainers, and youth group workers. Volume 2 includes over 200 listings of student literature, a “how to guide” for using the bibliography and selecting student resources, a section of adult resources, plus more. It can be used in conjunction with Volume 1, which was created to help teachers make academic connections with bullying prevention themes. Both resources were written by Nancy Mullin with support from the CHPDP and with generous funding from the Highmark Foundation.
