The CHPDP is pleased to announce that it has received a grant from the Hunt Foundation to offer free bullying prevention trainings and technical assistance to school based mental health professionals and school resource officers (SROs) in Allegheny County.
Through this grant, the CHPDP will conduct two one-day bullying prevention workshops, host two online learning opportunities to support and build upon the lessons learned in the workshops, and provide technical assistance to participants and the school districts they serve. This 9 month program will:
• Increase mental health professionals’ and SROs’ knowledge regarding the dangers of bullying and how bullying can have long term and lasting negative effects on children who has been bullied
• Enable participants to respond and intervene effectively when they see or suspect bullying
• Provide participants with the knowledge, tools and resources to better support children who have been bullied
• Empower the mental health professionals and SROs to become more involved in their school’s existing bullying prevention efforts (committees and programs) to help create a safer school environment for children.
